No. A new eSIM does not use a phone number, ICCID, or mobile account. That is different from ChatRefill mobile top-up, which sends airtime to someone's phone. For a new eSIM we only need the destination and the plan you select.

Choose where you will use data (Uganda, another country, Europe, or Global). Open the plans for that destination, select one, then add it to your cart. Checkout is the same secure Stripe flow as mobile top-up, in USD only. After payment we issue the eSIM and show a QR code plus install links.

Mobile top-up sends airtime or data credit to an existing phone number. Gift cards are digital brands delivered by email. An eSIM is a new data profile you install on your device. You cannot mix an eSIM with phone top-up or gift cards in the same cart. Clear the cart first if it already has those products.

A country plan is listed for one destination, such as Uganda. Europe covers many European countries on one plan. Global covers a wide list of countries on one plan. If Uganda has no local eSIM in the catalog, a Global or Europe plan may still include it in coverage. Check the coverage list on each plan.

When the order completes you get: a QR code from the LPA activation string, a copyable activation code, an Apple install link for iPhone, an Android install link, a fallback installation URL, and the ICCID (serial). The same details are emailed to you. Keep this page open until the QR appears. Issuing usually takes a few seconds.

On iPhone, scan the QR in Camera or Settings, Cellular, Add eSIM, or use the Apple install link we show after payment. On Android, scan the QR in Settings, Network and internet, SIMs, Add eSIM, or use the Android install link. You can also paste the activation code (LPA string) if your phone asks for it. Turn on data roaming when you arrive.

The ICCID is the serial number of your eSIM profile. Save it. You will need it later if you top up this same eSIM. An existing-eSIM top-up uses the ICCID only. It does not issue a new QR. A new eSIM purchase never asks for an ICCID.

No. A ChatRefill travel eSIM is for data. Keep your primary SIM or eSIM for calls and SMS. Add the ChatRefill eSIM as a second line for data in Uganda or wherever the plan's coverage list includes.

ChatRefill only lists destinations that currently have eSIM plans. If Uganda has none, it is not a site error. That destination is not in the catalog yet. Try Global or Europe; many country names appear inside those coverage lists. You can also search another country from this page.

You can buy and install the eSIM before you travel. After install, wait to use mobile data until you are in a covered country, then enable data roaming for this eSIM in your device settings. Coverage is shown on each plan. Confirm Uganda is listed if you bought a Global or Europe pack.
